It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas all over central Florida! During this most wonderful time of the year, Orlando and Kissimmee pull out all the stops for holiday activities, events and attractions. Here’s a quick look at some of the best options for holiday fun:
Walt Disney World®
See many of your favorite characters, rides and attractions in their holiday finest with special events at Walt Disney World®. Highlights include Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom® Park and Epcot® International Festival of the Holidays. Universal Studios
Over at Universal Studios, the Christmas spirit is just as bright with celebrations throughout the parks. From Nov. 16 through Jan. 5, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley take on the wonder and magic of Christmas. The streets are lined with festive decor, incredible lighting and special holiday shows by Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees and the Frog Choir. The shops will have holiday treats and drinks, as well as tons of great Christmas gifts.
Universal’s Holiday Parade features characters from Madagascar and Shrek, as well as the man of the hour, Santa Claus. Get into the holiday spirit at the live performances by Mannheim Steamroller, performing certain Saturdays and Sundays. Don’t miss the live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic Christmas story during the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular. You’ll get to meet The Grinch himself for an autograph and photo.
SeaWorld
SeaWorld joins in the holiday festivities, turning the park into a winter wonderland with lights and decor. Running from November 23 through December 31, the celebration includes entertainment like the Sesame Street Christmas Parade and O’Wondrous Night, showcasing the Nativity story complete with live animals. Other highlights include the Sea Lion High Christmas pageant, Pets Ahoy Holiday Special and Winter Wonderland on Ice.
Along with entertainment and shows, the holiday party includes holiday-themed food like apple crisp, waffle cone s’mores and kettle corn. The Christmas market is full of crafts and holiday items that would make Christmas gifts for all your friends and families.
LEGOLAND
Join your favorite Lego characters for holiday fun at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. All the activities are included in the general admission ticket. Enjoy the songs and sounds of the Holly Jolly Jubilee, meet a live Lego Santa and Toy Soldier and take your photo with reindeer and snowmen built entirely out of Legos. From December 26-31, finish the day with the nightly fireworks show and a dance party.
ICE at Gaylord Palms Resort
After trucking in 36 loads of snow, Gaylord Palms Resort transforms into a winter wonderland that appeals to all ages. The ICE event at Gaylord Palms runs from November 16 through January 6 and features the Polar Express. Guests can admire the life-sized sculptures, zoom down five two-story ice slides and watch artisans at work in the Frostbite Factory live carving zone. The Gaylord provides calf-length coats for guests of all ages and sizes, and guests must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.
