Each of the Disney World Orlando parks has its own New Year’s Eve celebration. At the Magic Kingdom, both Frontierland and Tomorrowland are grooving with dance parties on the 30th and 31st. Dance the night away until midnight, when the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks show leaves you oohing and ahhing.
If you ever wanted to celebrate New Year’s in a different country, check out Epcot’s New Year’s parties. When the clock strikes midnight in each of the showcase countries, that pavilion comes alive with music, celebration and fireworks. Bring your best dance moves, as each showcase country, as well as the American Gardens Theater, has live music. Right before midnight, head to the World Showcase Lagoon for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth fireworks show.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a midnight countdown and fireworks, while Disney Springs rings in the New Year with food and drink specials at many of the restaurants. Get the VIP treatment at the Disney Countdown to Midnight: A New Year’s Eve Celebration held at the convention center at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The evening includes adult beverages for guests 21 years and older, a DJ, delicious food from signature restaurants like California Grill and Flying Fish Cafe and fireworks and champagne on the porte cochere. Be a VVIP at the Ink & Paint Club, an exclusive lounge open during the Disney Countdown to Midnight party.
Better suited for the younger crowd, the Pixar Party New Year’s Eve Celebration features popular Pixar characters, movie props and a delicious kid-friendly buffet dinner. The DJ will be spinning Radio Disney tunes and party-goers can also enjoy face painting, balloon animals and other activities.
Other great events happening at the end of the year include a special holiday version of UP! A Great Bird Adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. From November 8 through January 1, hear the story of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India from all the UP! characters.
