Casiola wins FAVR new logo competition

News, Owners, What's going on at Casiola?, What's going on in Orlando?, Why choose Casiola

Casiola vacation homes is proud to be selected as the winning entry for the logo competition to rebrand the Florida Vacation Rental Association (FVRMA) to The Florida Alliance for Vacation Rentals (FAVR).

FAVR logo competition

FAVR decided to make their new look something that every member could be part of, so they made it a friendly logo competition. Members from across the state submitted designs and concepts that would express the mission and unity within Florida’s vacation rental industry.

The winning entry, created by our talented marketing superstar Cedric Degruyter, combined the international symbol of hospitality, “the pineapple”, with elements of our lodging sector to successfully depict who we are as an industry collectively.

FAVR winner

This new FAVR logo received the highest tally of votes by our selection committee and our Board of Directors, to be the new face of the vacation rental industry here in Florida for years to come.
“This type of participation by our members epitomizes the dedication we have towards the Vacation Rental Industry. This rebranding will help to propel us forward with a positive jolt of excitement”, said Nykkie Rizley, President of FAVR.

Why the name change and rebrand to FAVR?

In a recent article with VRM intel, Denis Hanks, the association’s executive director, explained what the FAVR rebrand means for the association:

The change for our association and for the industry was imminent. The Florida vacation rental market continues to grow and evolve (especially post-pandemic), and the association is adapting to these changes and market conditions. Our Florida market is unique, setting records and trending with the latest industry standards and advancements consistently. Vacation rentals are taking their rightful place as the premier hospitality sector in the Sunshine State.

The vacation rental industry is growing

Over the last 12 months, over 70,000 new listings have emerged on the major booking platforms like Airbnb and Vrbo in Florida alone. Inventory is growing, and the industry is diversifying with mergers, buyouts, and entrepreneurship. The Florida Alliance for Vacation Rentals, under its new branding, will take its 27 years of experience in the Florida vacation rental market to new heights.

One change will be growing our current base to unforeseen levels as a professional alliance of owners, managers and vendor partners that are working together for the advancement of the vacation rental industry throughout Florida.

Government affairs will be FAVR’s #1 challenge

Without a doubt, the most time-consuming and important initiative of the alliance is their local government affairs activities.

Every dollar that Florida VRMA has raised for advocacy—and every dollar that FAVR will raise—stays in Florida. FAVR has just established its eighth regional chapter, and this continues to attract participation from local members and partners to address issues on the ground locally. The end game is to establish one set of fair and comprehensive rules implemented statewide, just like all other lodging sectors enjoy throughout Florida.

Education

One thing that has always set the FVRMA / FAVR apart is their education and certification. Florida’s vacation rental market has over 1,500 vacation rental management companies, but this also includes 70 percent of Florida’s inventory that is managed by owner/managers with less than five homes in their portfolios. This segment of our vacation rental industry is a targeted audience for us and is in dire need of operational standards and education. FAVR will continue to expand programming and benefits with an all-inclusive focus on every operator, regardless of size and hospitality product being offered. They expanded their educational curriculum and will continue to advance their MBA certification program under FAVR.
