The Grand Parade, held in Oranjestad before Ash Wednesday, is the highlight of carnival. The Grand Parade begins at noon and continues until late in the evening. It is the longest parade, with the most marching participants and the biggest audience of spectators.

  • February 19th: Burning of King Momo

King Momo personifies the carnival spirit! He represents dramatic irony, fun, liberty, and satire – everything that carnival represents.
