With dreamy coastlines, vivid hues, art deco architecture, Cuban-inflected communities, and thriving nightlife, it turns out that Miami is much more than a sunny escape. Discover all there is to do in the most beautiful city in the South while staying at a Casiola Miami vacation home. Downtown Miami is a great place to visit if you want to explore the city. There’s so much to do, from museums and shopping to parks and beaches. Here are some of our favorite things to do in downtown Miami:
1. Bayside Marketplace
Bayside Marketplace is a shopping center with over 100 shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs. It’s located in downtown Miami on Biscayne Bay and close to the Port of Miami and American Airlines Arena. The marketplace is open from 10 am to 10 pm every day of the week.
2. Bayfront Park

Bayfront Park is a large urban park in Downtown Miami, Florida. The park is situated on Biscayne Bay, extending from NE 2nd to SE 1st Street. Just down the street from our charming Casiola Miami condos. The latest attraction here is the Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel, which offers views of downtown’s skyline and bay. Bayfront Park also has two performance venues: The Tina Hills Pavilion and the FPL Solar Amphitheater.
3. Maurice A. Ferré Park

Maurice A. Ferré Park formerly called Museum Park is a public park in Downtown Miami. The park is located on Biscayne Boulevard between NE 2nd Avenue and NE/SE 1st Avenue. The park contains three museums: the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts at its northwest corner. It also has several fountains as well as an outdoor performance space known as “The Lawn”.
4. Wynwood Walls
The Wynwood Walls is an outdoor art space located in the heart of Miami’s most popular neighborhood, Wynwood. The area was originally used for warehouses and industrial purposes but has now been transformed into a hotbed for street art and modern architecture.
The walls are painted by artists from around the world, who have created murals that are meant to be viewed from afar as opposed to up close and personal. They’re made from concrete blocks, which makes them last longer than regular walls would, and they can also withstand bad weather conditions like hurricanes or thunderstorms without any damage being done!
5. Mary Brickell Village

Mary Brickell Village is a lifestyle center that’s perfect for a day out. It’s located in the financial district of Downtown Miami, making it easily accessible by public transportation. The shops are open seven days a week, until 8 pm on weekdays and until 9 pm on weekends. They offer an array of shopping experiences as well as some world-class dining experiences!
6. Little Havana
If you’re looking for a place to eat, shop, and people watch, Little Havana is the perfect spot. The area right around Calle Ocho (8th Street) has some of the best places in Miami to grab a bite and sip on an authentic mojito. If you’re into shopping, this part of town has plenty of options as well. You can stroll down Calle Ocho or head over to Calle 9th Avenue where there are plenty of stores with handcrafted jewelry and clothing by Cuban artisans. And if all that walking has got you tired, take a seat at one of Little Havana’s many outdoor cafes where you can enjoy some shade while eating some delicious Cuban food or drinking freshly squeezed fruit juices made with fresh fruit from local farms.
7. Coconut Grove
Coconut Grove is a neighborhood in Miami, Florida. It is known for its beautiful homes and parks, as well as its restaurants. With so much to do in Coconut Grove, it’s no wonder that this neighborhood has become one of the most popular places to visit in Miami.
8. Art Deco District
When you’re in the Art Deco District, you’ll find that it is a great place to go for a walk. The buildings are beautiful and have been preserved by the city, so you can really see what Miami was like during its heyday as a beachside town. There are many restaurants, shops, and galleries in this area. The district is also very safe and well-lit, making it easy to roam around at night.
Find a vacation home you’ll love in Miami, Florida
With so many things to see and do, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. You don’t have to see it all in one day! Take your time and choose where you want to go based on what interests you most. If shopping is your thing then head over to The Shops at Mary Brickell Village or Wynwood Walls, if art is more your scene then check out the Little Havana or Art Deco District, if history is more up your alley than anything else then take a trip through Coconut Grove or Bayfront Park. No matter what type of person you are, there will always be something fun going on in downtown Miami so grab some friends and enjoy yourself!
